global-weather.net uses no cookies, no tracking and no advertising networks. We do not create user profiles.
Your settings (language, units, appearance, selected networks, map style) are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and are never transmitted to us.
When you open the page, your browser sends technically necessary data (IP address, time, browser) to our web server. Our hosting provider may store this in server log files for a short time for security reasons.
For an anonymous visitor statistic we count page views without cookies: each day a short code is formed from IP address and browser that cannot be reversed and changes daily – the IP address itself is never stored. We only keep the country (determined on our own server with the free DB-IP database, without any external service) and the domain of the page you came from (e.g. google.com).
Map tiles and satellite images are loaded directly from OpenFreeMap, NASA GIBS and – if selected – OpenTopoMap. These services receive your IP address when loading the images. Weather data is loaded via our own server.
Google Translate is only contacted if you actively choose «More languages». The page then opens at translate.google.com, where Google's privacy policy applies.
